Auburn Lee, age 19, is pursuing an undergraduate degree in music at Harvard University. Auburn´s career as a musician began at age 13 when he was awarded first prize in the International Slavic Music Competition, and in that same year attended the European American Musical Alliance summer composition program as the youngest student in the history of the organization. Since then Auburn has attended the EAMA program twice more, studying counterpoint and harmony in the tradition of Nadia Boulanger, and won numerous national and international piano competitions.
Auburn is an alumnus of the Aspen Music Festival and School, where he studied piano with pianist Anton Nel. He has performed in masterclasses by Stephen Hough, Stephen Kovacevich, and Seymour Lipkin. Auburn has given solo recitals in the Polish Cultural Center, Harris Concert Hall, and the Clayton Opera House, where the program included one of his own compositions.
Auburn was an MTNA national prize winner for his solo piano compositions. He has showcased his piano compositions at the Aspen Center for Physics, Sanders Theatre of Harvard Unviersity, and in a masterclass with Christopher Theofanidis.
